Celebrated author Paulo Coelho has said superstar Shah Rukh Khan deserved an Academy Award for his performance in the film “My Name is Khan”, if Hollywood fraternity was not biased.
Coldplay released its latest song Hymn for the Weekend, the video of which was shot in Mumbai.
The video has taken a thrash by few segments in social media for stereotyping Indian culture as it portrays India like any other western flick, the poverty, the religion, the poorness and the darkness that the west has always bestowed upon Indians.
But does it actually ?
The video as well as the soundtrack is not only pleasing to watch and hear but it also does justice to every aspect of Indian tradition that they have highlighted in this duration of 5 minutes.
From celebrating holi to street kids hopping to the sadhus meditating, nothing is absurd, nothing fabricated. It is the reality and we must accept it gracefully.
India does have top class infrastructure, pubs, discos, Land Rovers and Jaguars but it doesn't change the fact that the alternate reality doesn't exist.
Rather it is the wonderful and colorful depiction of the festivities of India.
